10 Habits that will Change your Life

Healthy American Lifestyles is a site for everyone serious about getting going on improving their health and life.

When you’re in high school, 10 years seems like a lifetime. When you get to be 10 years out of high school, 10 years doesn’t seem like much at all. 10 habits can make your life feel like it’s moving in fast forward. We’ll discuss 10 habits that will change your life for the better and help create the future you’ve always wanted.

Don’t ever skip breakfast

Skipping breakfast is bad for your heart, and you should really start the day with some sort of meal. Studies show that people who don’t have the first bite in their system when they wake up are more likely than not going to suffer from clogged arteries later on down the line – as well having other harmful habits like high blood pressure or obesity which can lead into strokes by 27%.

Meditate

Meditation may be the most important habit you can form. It’s so worth striving for a life filled with stillness and peace, where your mind is silent but not at rest because it has been trained to listen for guidance from within instead of outside noise. In this way everything becomes easier – stress melts away due primarily to having more self-control over our thoughts as well being able to work on whatever problem or challenge arises without worrying about whether someone else needs something done first before we get started ourselves.

Include fruits and veggies in your daily meals

A healthy lifestyle starts with a daily diet that contributes to your overall well-being. It’s not hard to make small changes, like adding more fruits and veggies in the mix when it comes time for you to eat – especially if these are already foods you enjoy eating (or at least don’t mind). You can take baby steps by having them prepared in front of you on the counter or even taking 10 minutes during lunchtime to go out into nature and pick some wild berries before coming back inside.

Find time to exercise

We are not your average 10-year-olds anymore. We know that an adult lifestyle requires a different level of activity than what we did when we were kids – but studies show the benefits of exercise still apply to adults just as much if not more so than they do for children or teenagers, for 10 years old and up alike. Make sure you get at least 30 minutes in every day to move around, whether it’s taking long walks with friends or hitting the gym three times each week (or both).

Learn something new every day

It doesn’t matter what you pick up along the way – knowledge is power! And learning comes in many forms: reading books about history, watching documentaries on Netflix, looking through magazines like National Geographic, or even just browsing the internet aimlessly for a while. 10 years is plenty of time to learn at least one new thing every day so that by the time you reach 30 you’ll have acquired over 3000 pieces of information!

Get enough sleep every night

Just like our physical activity levels need to be consistent in order for us to stay healthy and feel good, our sleeping patterns also need regularity if we want to get through life without feeling exhausted all the time. Adults should shoot for around eight hours per night on average, but this number can vary from person to person based on their own individual needs and preferences (for example, some people function better with nine hours).

Stay away from drugs and alcohol

We don’t need to get into too much detail on this one but suffice it to say that using drugs and alcohol as a crutch in order to cope with life is never a good idea. Not only are these substances addictive and can easily lead down a dark path, but they also have negative consequences on our physical health, mental well-being, and social lives.

Create positive relationships

The people we associate ourselves with have a huge impact on our overall happiness levels – so it’s important to choose wisely! Friends who are supportive and loving will make 10 years feel like nothing at all, while those who are constantly negative or bring drama into our lives will only succeed in making us feel drained and unhappy. Take some time every once in a while to honestly assess the relationships in your life and make sure each person brings out the best parts of you.

Unleash your creative side

Imagine the feeling of flowing through your day without any worries or pressure. You can be in a state where you’re not only providing for yourself but also giving back to others by doing something creative! It’s so satisfying and rewarding when people appreciate what YOU created–it makes all those hours spent working on projects worthwhile (even if they were long ago). So go ahead, take some time out from being productive; do something fun like making art together with paper towel tubes.

Have a positive outlook in life

When you develop a positive attitude, your self-esteem will skyrocket. You’ll begin to feel more confident in every aspect of who and what makes up this wonderful person that is “you.” With each new challenge we face comes understanding of how much potential lies within us all.
